RentRail FAQ

Does RentRail work offline?

Yes. Inventory, bookings, availability checks, local reports and PDF exports work without a RentRail cloud service. Optional email requires your SMTP connection. Microsoft Store licensing can use Microsoft services.

What happens when two bookings need the same equipment?

Confirmed bookings, checked-out items, maintenance blocks and buffer days reduce available stock. RentRail checks quantities inside the database write transaction and blocks a confirmation that would exceed stock. Quotes do not reserve stock.

What can I do for free?

Use every core workflow with up to 25 active item types, 50 customers and 10 active bookings, including quotes. There is no time limit. Completed and cancelled bookings do not count. You can always finish rentals, record payments, print invoices, export and back up existing records.

How do I upgrade to Pro?

Open Settings and choose Upgrade to Pro. Microsoft Store handles the checkout using your Microsoft account. Pro is a one-time purchase that removes the Free capacity limits. Use Refresh license to restore a purchase on a supported Store installation.

Can two PCs share one database?

Version 1 is for one local Windows workspace. It does not include cloud or local-network synchronization. Do not put a live database in a synchronized folder or share it between running app instances.

Does RentRail charge customers or handle card details?

No. RentRail records amounts and payment methods for your records. You collect payments using your own terminal or service.

How much does it cost?

The base app is Free indefinitely. Pro is planned at US$79 once through Microsoft Store. Microsoft Store will show the actual regional price before checkout when the product and add-on are published.
